About me – My journey through a changing industry

I didn't start my career with a big business plan or a strategy to build a company. I started because I loved film – and because I had a strong vision that adult films could be more than summerhouse porn, boring visuals and bad acting. They could be aesthetic, dedicated productions with respect for the craft and the people in front of and behind the camera. If nothing else, just have a slightly higher production value. You want so much when you start – but you have to take it one thing at a time.

I had no backing, no investors and no big plans – just a huge desire to create something that could raise the standard. It quickly became clear to me that it required much more than just passion. It required experience, networks, an understanding of the entire machinery behind a production – and not least money.

That's why I made a conscious choice: If I really wanted to change something, I had to start from scratch and build it myself. That was the beginning of DK Production, which I founded in 2004 – not because I had the answers to everything, but because I had the courage to try.

The following year, I was on a plane to Los Angeles – 18 years old, alone, excited and with a clear plan: I wanted to learn everything I could from those who did it best.

From dream to reality

Los Angeles became my professional starting point, while Copenhagen remained my base. From there I worked all over the world – from the US and Japan to France, Italy and Spain – and I collaborated with some of the industry’s most recognized producers, such as Vivid, Hustler, Penthouse, Red Light District, Bluebird Films, Private, Adam & Eve, Wicked Pictures, Ninn Worx and many more.

It was a year full of development and hard work. I stood in front of the camera on everything from small niche productions to large international film sets and learned what it feels like when a production is created with respect, vision and professionalism.

During this period, I was also nominated for several awards – including Starlet of the Year at the CAVR Awards in 2005, as well as nominations for both the XRCO Awards (2008) and the AVN Awards (2010). It wasn’t my own films that were nominated, but productions I was involved in – and it was an important confirmation that my vision of creating aesthetic and professional adult films was not just a dream, but something I actually succeeded in being a part of.

Multiple paths to the goal

The journey also presented challenges. There were periods when I had to pause productions to earn money elsewhere to keep the dream alive. I toured the US at strip clubs, did FEATURED shows and sold merchandise – back then often as Polaroid photos after a show, a lap dance or a performance.

Back home in Denmark, I was working on an idea that seemed almost utopian at the time: A platform where we could distribute our own content – and eventually others’ too. But streaming was still new, expensive and technically challenging.

I experimented with various online solutions and early live chat features – what was then called “webcam services.” They were neither perfect nor particularly successful, but I loved the idea of being able to talk directly to my fans live. And that’s where the foundation for something much bigger was laid: the idea for DK Webcam.

From idea to reality: DK Webcam

In 2008, the idea became a reality. DK Webcam was launched as part of DK Production – and the idea was simple: to give models the opportunity to work from home, own their own content and make money from it.

Initially, the platform offered both live chat and recorded shows – and back then it was even possible to film an entire movie directly via your webcam. That feature has now been replaced by our Video Upload section, which is undoubtedly Denmark's largest catalog of recent Danish adult content – both amateur and professional.

In addition, there is an extensive catalog of exclusive online content that has never been released on DVD but is still watched by millions of fans worldwide.

Behind the camera – and new projects

In recent years, I have primarily worked behind the camera – in operations, development and strategic building of our business. But I am still active in front of the camera and have recently recorded a number of new films, which you can find on my DK Webcam profile. I often film together with my amazing colleagues and many of the models who are part of our platform. At the same time, I have spent a lot of time restarting one of our earliest projects: DK Talents – a network for models, which I started way back at the beginning of DK Productions.

The idea back then was to bring together the few models that existed so that together we could create opportunities and more jobs. The industry wasn’t ready then – but today the situation is completely different. Models are no longer just performers, but also producers, marketers and entrepreneurs. The idea of networking therefore makes sense like never before.

DK Talents today functions as a professional community where models support each other. This is also where we will develop management, booking and exclusive representation for our biggest profiles. At DK Talents you will find interviews, insider stories and our special photo series FEATURED, where I document a day with a model – in pictures and in conversation.

DK Production, the original brand, is today behind all of my own films and productions – including all Denice Klarskov productions and the majority of the films released on my dual profiles on DKWebcam.dk.

However, the platform offers much more than that. Many of the models produce their own content completely independently, while DK Production is solely responsible for the production of our own titles and selected collaborations. We also act as a distributor and technical supplier of the platform, so that their content can be published under a safe and professional framework. The store – and the entire universe around

From our office in Lundby we also run DK Butik – a niche sex shop with everything that belongs in a modern adult lifestyle. Here you will find not only sex toys and accessories, but also cams, microphones, lights, cables and other equipment for content production. It is the official gift shop for DKWebcam.dk and a place where models can create and share their wish lists with fans.

An industry in motion – and a journey that continues

Today – after more than 20 years in the industry – I have created what I once only dreamed of: A professional production company, a strong platform, a growing network, and a business that both supports and uplifts those who work in the industry.

But most importantly: I have never lost my love for the craft. I still believe in aesthetics, dedication and respect – and I still believe that adult films can be much more than many people think.

My journey is far from over. In fact, it feels like it has only just begun.
